Community Detectors: Invasive Tree Pests to Know

Invasive forest pests pose a growing threat to Maine’s woodlands, neighborhoods, and beloved backyard trees—and local residents are often the first to notice when something isn’t right.

Join the Boothbay Region Land Trust and the Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District for an informative and engaging program that will help you learn how to spot invasive tree pests before they spread. Participants will be introduced to several high-priority invasive insects, the signs of infestation to watch for, and what steps to take if you suspect a problem.

Whether you spend time hiking our trails, caring for your property, or simply enjoying Maine’s forests, this program will empower you to play an important role in protecting our local landscape.

This program is funded by a grant from USDA-APHIS.
