Founded in 1980, this year marks BRLT’s 45th anniversary of protecting and caring for the natural and scenic places that define our region. We invite you to join us for a special celebratory evening that commemorates this milestone while also raising funds to ensure our future success.

As we dine and dance, we look forward to honoring the many accomplishments made with your support over the past four and a half decades.

Autumn View Open House

July 15, 2025, 10am-2pm

Join us at our newest public nature preserve, Autumn View, for a first peak at this exciting property! Autumn View Preserve sits in the Meadow Brook conservation area and directly abutts Appalachee Preserve and Lobster Cove Meadow, creating an outstanding network of interconnected trails that will transform public access to nature in the heart of Boothbay Harbor. Environmental educator, Tracey Hall, will lead a guided hike of the new trail system  beginning at 10am. Shortly after this hike, guest presenter and historian Dr. Aimée Keithan, Educational Programs Manager at Greater Portland Landmarks, will provide a fascinating overview of the land’s rich history. Damariscove Island Boat Trip

September 6, 2025, 8am-3pm

Join us for a captivating day of exploration on Damariscove Island! Embark on a scenic boat ride with the Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) to one of Maine’s earliest European settlement sites, dating back over four centuries. During the voyage, a BRLT representative will provide fascinating insights into the island’s rich history and unique natural features.

Once on the island, enjoy a variety of activities including five miles of picturesque hiking trails, tide-pooling, and perfect spots for picnicking. You can also visit a small rustic museum to delve deeper into the island’s storied past.

Please be aware that Damariscove Island is a nature preserve with rugged terrain and limited amenities. The only facility available is a composting toilet. Be sure to bring plenty of water, sun protection, and anything else you might need for a comfortable visit. We look forward to sharing this remarkable adventure with you!

Family Fun Day

August 16, 2025, 11am-3pm

Join us for a day full of family activities and celebration at Oak Point Farm! BRLT will host a wide range of engaging activities sure to keep the whole family happy. Look for nature-themed games and crafts, music, a bounce house, food, and more! Stop in at the natural playground, or enjoy a walk along the universal access trail. More details coming soon. Free and open to all!
