Story Trail Walk: Hiders Seekers Finders Keepers
February 4, 2023 - March 5, 2023
Read a family-friendly book while walking through the woods. Follow the illustrated signs along the trail as they tell a tale that connects you to your natural surroundings. The free 1-mile story trail starts from the Oak Point Farm parking lot kiosk and can be completed at your own pace and on your own time. The current story trail features the read-aloud book “Hiders Seekers Finders Keepers”, written by Jessica and illustrated by Salini Perera.
In this poetic book, discover the many ways animals prepare for the challenges of winter. Some, the hiders, choose a place to rest and wait out the winter, hibernating under the ground or snuggling in a sheltered spot. Other creatures are seekers, migrating to new locations where the weather is milder and the food sources more plentiful. And then there are the finders, who keep warm and fed by adapting to the new conditions. Every animal knows just what to do — following an ingenious plan that’s just right for them!
The story trail at Oak Point Farm is open year-round during daylight hours, with a new book posted every four to five weeks. Current book titles and dates will be updated on our website.
