Story Trail Walk: Over and Under the Pond
August 1, 2020 - August 22, 2020
Looking for something to do with your kids during this time of remote learning and social distancing? Come outside and read a family friendly book while on a short and easy hike! This free 1 mile story trail starts from the Oak Point Farm parking lot kiosk and can be completed anytime during daylight hours. The current story trail features the book “Over and Under the Pond” by Kate Messner and Christopher Silas Neal. In this book, readers will discover the plants and animals that make up the rich, interconnected ecosystem of a pond. Over the pond, the water is a mirror, reflecting the sky. But under the water is a hidden world of minnows darting, beavers diving, and tadpoles growing. These secrets and many others are waiting to be discovered on this story trail walk. After the book ends, you will have a chance to investigate a real freshwater pond on the preserve that teems with life. What will you discover?
